We did it! The end of October saw the completion of our 'Paint the Town Orange' corporate challenge, a series of events and sponsorship raising funds for the Blackburn Youth Zone.
We have walked, ran, baked, sang, hosted a ladies' night and race night to help the Youth Zone employ dedicated target support workers, supporting the mental health of our youths.
And we are extremely proud and pleased to announce that with your support and help we have raised £5981 !!!
We would like to thank everyone that has supported us, donated, and attended our events over the last few months.
On Sunday 19th September, we took on an epic 24-mile walk starting at 8 am from Rivington, making our way up the Pike then continuing on to the beautiful Winter Hill before meeting up with the fantastic support team for some home-baked treats for lunch at the Turton and Entwistle Reservoir.
Stomachs full, we powered on to Darwen Tower and Great Hill. Managing Director Jimmy King said, "the walk was worth it just for the views from Great Hill".
Once again the support team was on hand with refreshments at Tockholes feeding the walkers delicious home-baked cheese scones and walnut loaf to accompany a much-needed cup of tea or coffee.
As the sun was setting and only 3 miles from the finish back at Rivington, the team, unfortunately, found themselves a little lost in the woods with darkness descending before finally getting back on track and completing the day at 9 pm.
Organised by one of our most recent recruits, Ben Posthuma de Boer said "Overall good fun!"

Starting the race on Portland Street and ending on Deansgate, Lauren from the Office Admin team completed the Great Manchester Half Marathon in a fantastic time of 1hr 49mins, shaving a whopping 14 mins off her PB.
Even at 8.30 in the morning, the temperature was unusually warm for Sunday 26th September as the starting pistol was fired. The route saw runners head past Manchester Metropolitan University before reaching the Etihad Stadium then turning back and making their way towards Old Trafford before finally completing the race outside the Hilton Hotel.
The support along the way spurred runners on with a brass band, a Clint Boon stage, and Hacienda Stage playing some great anthems.
