Blackburn Youth Zone is a 21st century youth hub located at the heart of Blackburn, open to young people aged 5 to 19 years old, aiming to change the prospects offered to young people in the area.
The Youth Zone has called upon local businesses to raise money in support of young people's Mental Health & Wellbeing and have launched their first ever Corporate Challenge! Fifteen businesses from across the borough including Pierce are competing against each other to see who can raise the most money.
Every pound raised will go towards funding a dedicated Targeted Support Worker and the campaign has been sponsored by patrons Trevor Dawson.
Mel Thomas Fundraising and Patron Comms Lead said: “We know that 2020 was a difficult year for businesses, as it was for Blackburn Youth Zone too. We believe ‘Paint the town orange’ will be a great opportunity for all of us to come together and achieve something positive; supporting local young people to achieve more from life. It will hopefully be a great opportunity for the businesses involved to boost staff morale, especially if teams have been remote working due to COVID.”
